The Main Summer holiday season in Les Deux Alpes takes place between 17th
June and 26th August. The glacier and snow park are open throughout this period
and can be accessed by the Jandri Express lift. The ski lifts double up in
the summer months and are equipped to take Mountain Bikes and climbers. The
lifts are open from 9am -4.45pm everyday.
The mountain bike scene in Les Deux Alpes has really taken off, culminating
in the Mondial du Vit 23rd-26th July when the town is swamped by riders, manufacturers
and spectators. Another popular event is the Mountain of Hell Festival, which
takes place on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of July 06.
The area has 140kms of marked trails, which include a Bike Park, 28 marked
routes, including 21 downhill, and 7 cross country, plus 12 lifts equipped
to carry bikes and a team of professionals to maintain the trails. The area
if perfect for downhill/freeride.

22nd to 25th of June 06 Mondial Du VTT Festival
Runs from 3200m to 700m. International Mountain bike Festival in
the centre of the resort with over 100 bike companies including GT, Scott,
Shimano, Fox etc exhibiting all the latest models and future kit. Many bargains
to be had with previous years stock sold at massive discounts.
You have the opportunity to test new bikes from all the leading
manufacturers and for 4 days can ride the tracks around the Mondial site.
The concept is that you can try out the bikes with all the manufacturers on
site to answer any technical questions you might have. You also get the chance
to ride with pro riders from the major bike companies who are also on hand
to give you advice to progress your riding.
Other activities include Trails demonstrations, Water jump sessions, 4 cross
competitions, Dirt Jumps sessions, and a kind of 2 man ice rink speedway kind

21st, 22nd+ 23rd July 06 – Mountain of Hell Episode 6
The 21st of July see’s the 6th edition of the now legendary freeride
competition Mountain of Hell takes place. This competition sees over 300 riders
(professional and amateur) compete over 3 days with 2 races on 2 courses of
over 25 km of natural tracks. Open to all this event is not for the faint
hearted.
13th-15th August 06 – Coupe de France de Vit
Also from 18th June to 27th Aug the Scott Bike company runs a test centre where you can try out new bikes for free.
Prices/Times
You can purchase lift passes in half day, full day, two day and so on.
Prices are roughly:
1 day -16 Euros gives unlimited access to the pedestrian
and Bike lifts
4 day -(non consecutive) 60 Euros - gives unlimited
access to the pedestrian and Bike lifts, 4 entries to the swimming pool, 5
runs of the summer luge and a reduction at the Adventure park (whatever that
is)
6 day 91 Euros - - gives unlimited access to the pedestrian
and Bike lifts, Free entry to the swimming pool, 5 runs of the summer luge
and a reduction at the Adventure park + 1 free day at Alpe d Huez.
You can also gain free access to the lifts with your bike if you have a valid
Ski pass for the area. This is priced at around 30 Euros a day.
The lifts are open from 9am -4.45pm everyday.

If you want to ski /snowboard there is over 200 hectares of groomed glacier
pistes including 4 Blue, 2 Green and 2 Red runs, accessed by 3 chair lifts,
4 ski tow, 2 beginner tows, 1 funicular and 1 elevator.
The snow park is very well maintained at 3200m and is the home to many pro
riders. With plenty of summer camps to suit all levels of ability as well
as amateur/pro comps including DJ’s and BBQ’s there is always
something going on. A Summer Ski Pass will cost 30 Euros per day and this
gives full access to the glacier and snow park from 07.15- 13.30 every day.
