




Tignes is a mountain resort in the heart of the French Alps. Tignes is one of the highest resorts in the Alps, with guaranteed skiing virtually all year round due to the glacier De La Vanoise, popularly called La Grande Motte glacier.
Tignes is one of only two areas listed as a snow-sure resort in the good ski and snowboard guide 2003. This is due to its altitude; Tignes itself lies at 2100 meters while the highest mountain peak, La Grande Casse, lies at 3852 metres.
Tignes is part of the Espace Killy area together with Val d'Isere. This area is arguably one of the premiere European resorts. The Espace Killy area consists of over 300 km of piste and some of the best off-piste in Europe. The area has got a total of 129 runs, ranging from beginners to advanced runs, and a snowboard park. The highest lift goes up to 3550 meters and the longest run is 10 km. With a lift system of over 97 lifts 2 high-speed funiculars, Tignes caters for all levels of skills. Tignes consists of five areas: Les Brevieres, Les Boisses, Le Lavachet, Le Lac and Val Claret. Our apartments are all in Val Claret, which is the highest point of Tignes.
Tignes has also got plenty to offer in the summer season.
Le Grande Motte glacier is open nearly all year round. In the summer it is usually open from 7 am to 1 pm, which leaves plenty of time in the afternoon to enjoy some of Tignes many summer activities. Ranging from sailing and golf to skateboarding. Tignes is a very good area for walking in the mountains with several well-marked routes.
Tignes has also got everything else you need to enjoy your holiday. There are several shops where you can buy everything from food to ski and snowboard gear. There are also 24 restaurants, 20 bars, and 2 clubs to keep you entertained in the evenings.
